(WWJ) Police were confronted with two separate incidents involving weapons over the weekend in Warren.
In one incident, officers confronted a woman who was pointing a long gun at officers. In another, a father is in custody while his son remains at large after a gunfight that wounded the mother.
In that situation, police say drinking was involved in a family fight at a condo complex in the 13-Mile/Mound area Saturday night.
The father and son exchanged gunfire, and the 45-year-old mother was caught in the crossfire. She is recovering at an area hospital from a gunshot to the leg.
The father will be facing charges later today, while police continue looking for the 25-year-old son who fled the scene.
In the second incident, police were called to a neighborhood in the 13-Mile/Hayes area in east Warren where neighbors spotted a woman with the weapon outside her home on Moroso Drive Sunday afternoon.
She refused to put the gun down for officers.
After a brief standoff, the woman was taken into custody without further incident.
