(WWJ) It was a crime scene in two cities this morning as police tell WWJ three people were shot in Inkster, and then a woman trying to drive victims to the hospital crashed her car, was ejected from the vehicle, and died.
Police said the incident began at a party when two gunmen fired at a crowd of revelers at the Parkside Apartment complex near Henry Ruff and Michigan Avenue. Two unknown males approached the party and fired multiple rounds north into the crowd, wounding three by gunfire. The suspects fled on foot south.
As two of the victims were being rushed to the hospital, their vehicle was involved in a crash in Dearborn Heights, on Ford Road near Inkster.
The driver, a woman in her 40s, was ejected from the vehicle and declared dead at the scene. The two wounded were then transported by a EMS unit to the hospital.
All three shooting victims are hospitalized -- their conditions unknown. No arrests have been made.
"This investigation is very fluid and updates will be provided as we gain more facts," police said.
