Is Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer the hottest governor in America?

That she is, according to writers of the new “Saved by the Bell” streaming television series.

Seen in a clip from the show posted to social media, character Zach Morris -- who has been elected governor of California on the series -- is noted as runner-up to Big Gretch.

"Do you feel like Slater kept taking little jabs at me -- like calling me Governor Preppy, and bragging about not having a dad bod? I mean, I have a single man bod, right?" Morris, played by actor Mark-Paul Harry Gosselaar, asks.

His TV wife Kelly, played by Tiffani Thiessen, replies: "Honey, you were voted second hottest governor in America, after Michigan's Gretchen Whitmer."

While there hasn't been a real-life vote on that topic (that we know of) it's not a complete surprise that Whitmer would be mentioned.

The governor has gained a national profile for her handing of the coronavirus and facing attacks from President Donald Trump. She also made national news this year when she was listed among potential vice presidential candidates for Joe Biden, and when she was target of a kidnap plot thwarted by the FBI.

Just last week it was learned that Whitmer is in the running for TIME's 2020 Person of the Year.

For those who are just excited to hear about the "Saved by the Bell" revival, you'll find it on Peacock, the new streaming service by NBCUniversal.
