HIGHLAND PARK (WWJ) - A fiery crash on the border of Highland Park and Detroit has left one driver dead on Thursday evening, authorities confirmed.

As reported by FOX 2, the wreck occurred at Davison and the Lodge Freeway in Highland Park, not far from Detroit city limits, on February 22.


According to reports, a speeding vehicle rammed through a cement barrier on the overpass before erupting into flames.

The vehicle, still aflame, then fell onto the freeway below.

At this time, an investigation into the incident remains ongoing. The circumstances leading up to the crash remain unclear at this time.

The victim's identity has yet to be released by police. No further details were provided.
