1 guest in Grinch costume arrested for punching coworker at holiday party in Traverse City: police

TRAVERSE CITY (WWJ) - Police in Northern Michigan had to put some party guests on Santa’s naughty list after they brawled at a work-related holiday function over the weekend.

According to Traverse City police, officers were called to the Hotel Indigo on W. Grandview Pkwy on Saturday night (Dec. 3) after it was reported that two people dressed in costume at a work Christmas party came to blows.

Upon arrival, police determined a 30-year-old man dressed as a reindeer was defending himself against a coworker, also a 30-year-old man, donned in a Grinch costume.

The man dressed as the Grinch was allegedly throwing punches. Police arrested the aggressor at the scene for assault.

Officers said they believed the fight escalated due to alcohol consumption. No injuries were reported.
