PITTSFIELD TWP. (WWJ) – Police are investigating after a massive brawl broke out on $3 movie night at a Washtenaw County theater Saturday night, leading to four arrests.

Police received calls around 9 p.m. Saturday of a fight involving 50 people at the Cinemark Ann Arbor 20 and IMAX on Carpenter Road in Pittsfield Township.

When officers showed up they found roughly 100 disorderly people involved in multiple fights happening both inside the theater and in the parking lot.

Officers were able to halt the most aggressive fight, which was occurring between three female juveniles. Multiple smaller and less aggressive fights broke out while police were on-scene.

Pittsfield Township police officers arrested three juveniles from Ann Arbor – ages 14, 14 and 15 – and an adult. The teens were all eventually released to parents.

Authorities have not released any information about what prompted the fight.

Video posted to YouTube shows part of the brawl, with police running to break up a large crowd of people.

Police officials say the case is still under investigation and will eventually be sent to the Washtenaw County Prosecutor’s Office to review for criminal charges.

There were no injuries during the fight, which happened on a night that ticket prices were lowered to just $3 as part of National Cinema Day, bringing a large number of people to the theater.

Police are asking anyone who knows something about the melee to call the Pittsfield Township Police Department:
