(WWJ) A Detroit family is yearning for the safe return of their teen daughter.
Police say Shaviah Bassett, 14, was last seen Saturday (4/17) around 5:00 p.m. at her home on Appleton in the area of Telegraph and Seven Mile. Her father and stepmother said she left home, failed to return, and has never gone missing before.
Shaviah is described as 5'5" and 140 lbs. She vanished wearing a light grey hoodie, light grey pants, and possibly a green bonnet.
She is physically healthy. However, her parents worry she may be harming herself and they are deeply concerned for her safety.
If you have seen Shaviah or know where she is, call Detroit Police Department's Eighth Precinct Investigative Unit at (313) 596-5840, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-Speak Up.
