15-year-old boy struck by stray bullet inside Detroit home late at night, hospitalized: police

DETROIT (WWJ) A 15-year-old boy is hospitalized after he was struck by a stray bullet inside a home on Detroit's southwest side, police said.

Detroit Police said it happened on Wednesday, October 15, around 11:07 p.m. at a house on Campbell Street, in the area of Livernois and W. Vernor.

According to authorities, "unknown suspects" fired shots outside the home-- and one bullet struck the teen inside.

The teen was taken to the hospital for treatment. His condition is unknown.

No further information was released about the circumstances leading up to the shooting.

The suspects remain at large.
