GEORGETOWN TWP. (WWJ) – A young West Michigan worker has died after what officials are calling an "industrial accident."
The 19-year-old victim was working at a business in Georgetown Township – about 10 miles southwest of Grand Rapids – around 3:15 p.m. Tuesday at the time of the accident, according to a report from WZZM.
The Ottawa County Sheriff's Office has not identified the business, but said the teen was injured while working with construction equipment, according to the report.
It was not immediately clear what caused the incident.
First responders tried to save the teen's life, but they were pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities are not releasing the teen's name at this time.
The incident is still under investigation.
