DETROIT (WWJ) -- Two people have been charged in connection with vandalism at Detroit’s iconic Guardian Building.

According to the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office, 49-year-old Ramzu Yunus, of Highland Park, and 57-year-old Angela Tajuan Williams, of Waldorf, Maryland, used a slingshot to shatter the building's glass revolving door just before 5 a.m. on Saturday morning.

Police later stopped the suspects, finding a handgun, ammunition, and the slingshot used to do the damage.

No injuries were reported, but both now face felony charges.

Yunus has been charged with Malicious Destruction of a Building - $1,000 to $20,000, Possession of a Firearm by a Prohibited Person, Carrying a Concealed Weapon, and two counts of Felony Firearm.

Williams has been charged with Malicious Destruction of a Building - $1,000 to $20,000.

They were arraigned Tuesday morning in 36th District Court, where bond was set at $50,000 for Yunus and $25,000 for Williams. Both were ordered to wear a GPS tether if they are released on bond.

A probable cause conference in the case is set for July 29, to be followed by a preliminary exam set for Aug. 5.
