(WWJ) Two young men are facing murder charges in the case of a body found last week in an Oakland County park.
Dshaun Hatton-Street, 19, of Romulus, and Stephan Shaw, 19, of Taylor, are each charged with open murder using a firearm in the commission of a felony in the slaying of 19-year-old Andre Avant, Jr.
Both were arraigned in 52-1 District Court in Novi on Wednesday and were ordered held without bond.
A person visiting Proud Lake Recreation area spotted Avant's body near the boat launch, in the area of Benstein and Glengary roads, on Monday, Feb. 16. The Oakland County Medical Examiner determined that Avant had a single gunshot wound to his head, and concluded his death a homicide.
Last Thursday, three men were arrested in connected with the death by the Oakland County Fugitive Apprehension Team. Officials have said the third person has since been released from custody.

I am proud of their work and their dedication to ensuring those responsible are brought before the court and held accountable.”
