2 injured after glider aircraft crash lands in Livingston County field

UNADILLA TOWNSHIP (WWJ) - A glider aircraft came barreling down and collided into a field in Livingston County on Wednesday afternoon, sending two people to the hospital, authorities said.

Fire officials said the cash occurred around 3 p.m. in the area of Doyle and Unadilla Road, about a half mile from Richmond Field in Unadilla Township.

According to authorities, two people, a man and a teenage boy, were the only occupants on the aircraft when it went down.

They were rushed to the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor for medical care, but the victims' conditions or extent of their injuries are currently unknown.

No one on the ground was injured in the incident.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation. No other details were released.
