DETROIT (WWJ) -- Two people are now in custody in the case of a 15-year-old boy who found dead in a Detroit cemetery.

According to Detroit Police, the body of Lawrence Dowl was discovered by a mourner at Mount Hazel Cemetery on Lahser Rd., south of 7 Mile Rd., last Thursday evening — not long after the teen was reported missing by his family.

"The boy was wearing a ski mask and gloves, which added more questions to the already unfortunate situation," WWJ Newsradio 950's Tim Pamplin reported.

According to his family, Dowl was last seen Tuesday night in the 19900 block of Salem on Detroit's west side, before he was picked up by a friend.

Updating reporters on Monday, Detroit Police Chief Todd Bettison said: "We do have to persons of interest in custody... One of them turned themselves in, shortly thereafter the discovery of the young teen. Then the other we apprehended on Saturday."

Both persons of interest are said to be men in their 20s. Their names have not been released.

Bettison said the DPD has turned over its report to the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office, which will determine charges in the case.

As for what happened, authorities are expected to release more details if, or when, charges are filed.
