21-year-old Detroit man killed in Ypsilanti shooting

(WWJ) Investigators are searching for a killer following a shooting in Ypsilanti overnight.

According to a news release by the Ypsilanti Police Department, gunfire rang out at around 1 a.m. Thursday, in the 800 block of Huron River Drive


Police officers responded to the scene to find a single victim, identified as a 21-year-old man from Detroit, suffering from gunshot wounds.

He was taken by EMS to a local hospital where he died from his injuries.

A motive for the shooting unknown at this time. No arrests have been made, and no suspects have been described.

The name of the man who died was not immediately released.
