DETROIT (WWJ) - Three people are in stable condition after a rollover crash sent two vehicles up and back down an embankment along I-94 near 8 Mile early Friday morning.
Michigan State Police said the crash occurred on the border of Harper Woods and St. Clair Shores on the eastbound lanes of interstate 94 around 1:45 a.m.
When troopers arrived at the scene, they immediately found one victim -- a woman -- lying in the right lane. Two other wounded people were found among the wreckage of two cars.
All three injured were taken to a local hospital in stable condition, MSP said.
Based on their preliminary investigation, two passenger cars were both traveling east on I-94 near 8 Mile when one of the drivers made a lane change and struck the other.
Both drivers lost control, troopers found, and their vehicles rolled up an embankment before crashing back down on the freeway.
One of the drivers was ejected in the crash. The driver of the other vehicle and a passenger was also injured.
The freeway was shutdown for several hours as police investigated. The at-fault driver has yet to be determined.
No other information was provided by police.
