DETROIT (WWJ) -- Detroit police officials say they've arrested five suspects who allegedly robbed an Amazon delivery driver Tuesday evening on the city's east side.

At around 6 p.m. on Dec. 17, investigators say an Amazon driver was delivering packages in the 5700 block of Courville, near Outer Dr. E, when a vehicle pulled out in front of her.

Three suspects, dressed in all black, announced a robbery, police said, stealing several packages at gunpoint from the Amazon truck.

The suspects then fled scene in a dark-colored SUV.

The driver called 911, and officers from the 5th Precinct responded, searching for the suspect vehicle and canvassing the area for video evidence.

On Thursday, police announced that they had tracked down the suspects, who took them into custody.

Police said officers also recovered the SUV used, during the robbery, and the stolen packages were inside the car.

Michigan State Police on Thursday shared video on social media showing Trooper 2, the helicopter that often patrols over the city, helping Detroit police officers track down the suspects.

The video shows three suspects getting out of the SUV and running into a home. They appear to be carrying packages while running from the car.

The SUV took off but returned a short time later and picked up the suspects before taking off again.

The SUV eventually came to a stop at Berkshire and Greensboro and all five suspects got out and ran, with officers following close behind.

All five suspects were eventually surrounded and taken into custody.

The suspects' names were not immediately released, with charges pending.
