DETROIT (WWJ) -- An investigation is underway on Detroit's west side where summer barbeque was interrupted by gunfire.
According to Detroit Police Captain Matthew Bray, four people were wounded in the shooting at around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, at a home on Mettetal St., in a neighborhood near Grand River Ave. and Greenfield.
Speaking to reporters near the scene, Bray said all the victims are adults. He said they were all guest at the barbeque, and they all know each other.
"They are a compilation of males and females," he said. "I don't want to get into their actual dates of birth, but they're all of age."
Bray said all four victims were taken to a local hospital, and a male suspect was taken into custody. The suspect's name has not been released, with expected charges pending.
As for a motive, Bray said police are investigating what led up to the shooting.
"So, we're still working through that right now. I wouldn't be able to give you that right now, to protect the investigation, but we're still working through all those details," Bray said.
The four victims remained hospitalized Thursday morning. Bray said all of them are expected to survive.
