DETROIT (WWJ) — The search is on for a group of suspects accused of robbing a 15-year-old boy on Detroit’s west side last month.
Detroit police officials on Thursday shared photos of the men they say were responsible for the robbery, which happened around 6 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 16.
The teen victim was walking in the area of McNichols and Fenmore — a block east of the Southfield Freeway — when four male suspects got out of a black Ford Explorer and approached him.
Officials say one suspect pointed a handgun at him, while the others demanded his personal property. The suspects got back in the SUV and fled the scene.
Police officials did not say what the suspects stole from the teen.
Surveillance photos show the suspect at a Citgo gas station at the corner of McNichols and Fenmore.
Police describe the suspect who pointed the gun at the victim as “tall and thin.” He was last seen wearing a black face mask, a dark Carhartt jacket, Hyflex gloves, black and white jogging pants and red Jordan shoes.
Another suspect, also described as tall and thin, was last seen wearing a black jacket, black pants and black tennis shoes. No description was given for the other two suspects.
Authorities are asking anyone who recognizes the suspects or their vehicle, or otherwise knows something about the robbery to call the DPD’s 8th precinct at 313-596-5840, Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP, or submit a tip online at DetroitRewards.tv.
