Four women arrested at scene of "disturbance" in Detroit, including one who backed into police officer with her car

DETROIT (WWJ) -- Four woman have been arrested on Detroit's west side, including one who allegedly hit a police officer with her car.

The incident happened Friday morning, according to Detroit Police, in the 82000 block of Mendota St., which is in the area of Charlfonte and Meyers Rd.

According to Detroit Police Cpl. Dan Donakowski, officers were called to the scene of a reported "disturbance" involving a group of women.

While police were handing the situation, Donakowski said a woman in a car backed into one of the officers with her vehicle.

A total of four woman were arrested at the scene, including the woman who struck the officer.

Donakowski told WWJ's Luke Sloan that the officer who was hit by the car is doing fine; noting that he was just "tapped" by the vehicle.

No one else was hurt.

Police have not released any details about what exactly was going on, as far as the disturbance, as Donakowski said the investigation into that situation is still ongoing.

The name of the women in custody were not immediately released, with any possible charges pending.
