1. Dia de Los Muertos, hosted by The Greening of Detroit
Saturday-Sunday, Nov. 1 & 2
Lafayette Greens Urban Garden, Detroit
It's a chance to connect with the cultural tradition of honoring loved ones who have passed. Guests will enjoy refreshments, face painting, art and crafts, as well as performances by Ballet de Folklórico de Detroit and Mariachi Mexico 2000 de Detroit All who's like to are also invited to decorate their own ofrenda (altar) to honor family and friends. 2. Youmacon: Michigan’s Anime Experience
Thursday-Sunday, Oct. 30-Nov. 2
Huntington Place, Detroit
Youmacon returns to celebrate Japanese animation, video games, pop culture and costuming. One of the coolest parts of this massive convention? A huge marketplace filled with anime merchandise, artwork, figures and other collectibles. There will also be plenty of cosplay happen, panels and special guests. Get the details.
3. Official Detroit Halloween Bar Crawl
Friday-Saturday, Oct. 31 & Nov. 1
Downtown Detroit
Prepare yourself for Detroit's biggest Halloween bar crawl of the year! 4. Back to the Future: The Musical

"Back to the Future" — the beloved, cinematic classic — is now a Broadway musical. with its destination set for Detroit Open House! When Marty McFly finds himself transported back to 1955 in a time machine built by the eccentric scientist Doc Brown, he accidentally changes the course of history. Now he’s in a race against time to fix the present, escape the past, and send himself... back to the future. Recommended for ages 10 and up. Get tickets.
5. Michigan Depression Glass Society's 52nd annual Show & Sale
Saturday-Sunday, Nov. 1 & 2
Ford Community and Performing Arts Center, Dearborn
Browse and shop 15,000 square feet of vintage and depression glass, as 23 dealers from across the country gather to sell American-made glass dating before 1980. There will be a raffle for a luncheon set, door prizes, and glass repair available .This event is billed as the ONLY show in Michigan that is exclusively vintage glassware, and admission is only $8.
