Menorah in the D is an annual, community-wide menorah lighting event in Downtown Detroit, welcoming people of all ages and backgrounds to kick off the Hanukkah season. Celebrate the Festival of Lights beginning on Thursday, Dec. 7 as they light the 26-foot menorah in Cadillac Square. Plus, enjoy strolling entertainment, craft-making, games, fun for the kids, treats from Chef Cari's Kosher Food Truck and more! The fun begins at 5 p.m., and the lighting will take place at 5:30 p.m.

2. Christmas in Plymouth & Mistletoe Market
Experience the holidays in beautiful Downtown Plymouth with two festive events! Christmas in Plymouth features horse-drawn carriages, trolley rides, unique gifts, dining specials, fire pit warming stations, live street music & dancing, cookie decorating, meet & greets with Santa, and more! And while you’re there, check out the fourth annual Mistletoe Market — a European-style, traditional open-air under the Plymouth Gathering that’s sure to help you with your holiday shopping list!

Whether you enjoy your tequila neat, on the rocks or in hand-crafted cocktails, it’s all available at the Detroit Tequila Festival! Stroll around the event and taste some of the finest brands and varieties of tequila in the world. Plus Pablo's Tacos and treats from a variety of other food trucks will be on site for purchase. The Detroit Tequila Festival happens inside Eastern Market's Shed 3 in Detroit on Friday, Dec. 8 from 7 p.m. - 10:30 p.m., with a limited-quantity VIP session beginning at 6 p.m.

4. Magic of Lights at Pine Knob
Become enchanted with the Magic of Lights, happening now at Pine Knob Music Theatre! One of Metro Detroit’s newest holiday traditions, the dazzling drive-through light display features holiday-themed scenes and characters using the latest LED technology and digital animations. Experience the Magic of Lights from the comfort of your own car as you wind through the sparkling pathway. Check it out evenings from 5:30 p.m. - 10 p.m. at Pine Knob in Clarkston.

5. Canterbury Village Cookie Crawl
Enjoy the festive holiday ambiance throughout the quaint Canterbury Village while trying some delicious treats at the annual Cookie Crawl! Bring the whole family and stroll through the beautifully decorated village while sampling a different homemade cookie at each shop, and then vote for your favorite at the end. Guests can also bring containers and collect cookies to enjoy later. While you’re there, knock out some holiday shopping with local vendors, and grab a beverage and snacks at The C-Pub!
