1. Winter at Valade's Fire and Ice Festival
Winter at Valade's Fire and Ice weekend offers tons of winter medieval fun with some of your renaissance fair favorites! Enjoy turkey legs, an ice carving competition, try your hand at archery and ax throwing, or take your picture on the Iron Throne - made of ice! Frozen's Elsa and Renaissance Fair performers will be wandering the park for additional photo opportunities. The signature moment of the weekend is Fire and Ice Tower - a 7-foot ice structure that will become a giant bonfire once lit on Saturday evening.

2. Glow Stick Nights at Dodge Park: 70s Night
Head out to Dodge Park Ice Rink in Sterling Heights this weekend for an open skate at a special edition of Glow Stick Nights where you can shake your groove thang! Grab a free glow stick and take a spin (or several!) around the rink while enjoying a fun '70s theme. Other upcoming themed nights will include 80s Night, 90s Night, 2000s Night, Pride Night, Superhero Night and more! The 70s-themed Glow Stick Nights at the Dodge Park Ice Rink happens this Saturday, Jan. 6 from 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. at Dodge Park in Sterling Heights.

Getting ready to walk down the aisle in 2024? Before the big day, stroll over to the Novi Bridal Expo at Suburban Collection Showplace! Grab your family and friends and shop a variety of wedding vendors for ideas and deals, see the latest looks at the bridal fashion show, register to win great giveaways and more! It will be all-weddings, all weekend at the Novi Bridal Expo on Saturday, Jan. 7 and Sunday, Jan. 8 at Suburban Collection Showplace.

Join in on some winter fun this season at the Winter Park at Bowers Farm in Bloomfield Hills! Grab the whole family for glow tubing (snow not required), roasting s'mores, a winter play area, farm animals, plus other food and special activities. A special tubing surface makes the activity fun in any weather. Winter Park will be open now through February on Wednesdays-Sundays. Glow tubing sells out fast, so get your tickets in advance!

Cirque du Soleil's CRYSTAL — a one-of-a-kind production that brings the circus arts to the ice for the very first time — returns to Detroit's Little Caesars Arena this weekend from Jan. 4 through Jan. 7. With seven jaw-dropping traditional circus acts all thrillingly adapted for Cirque du Soleil's first foray into a brand new creative territory – the ice – CRYSTAL takes audiences on an unforgettable journey into the vivid and whimsical world of imagination.
