1. Macomb County HarvestFest

The Macomb County HarvestFest at Freedom Hill County Park returns this weekend for another year of great community fun featuring safe trick-or-treating stations, tons of activities, and yummy food trucks! Take a ride on a hayride, jump around in the inflatable zone, and check out some Halloween movies, music and magic! Plus, a pumpkin patch, professional pumpkin carvers, games, a zoology reptile show and more!

Saturday, Oct. 21 & Sunday, Oct. 22 from 12 p.m. - 5 p.m. at Freedom Hill County Park - Pavilion in Sterling Heights

2. Sterling Frights

I scream, you scream, we all scream for Halloween! Get ready for a howlin' good time at Sterling Heights' annual Sterling Frights Halloween event in Dodge Park on Saturday, Oct. 21 from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. There will be music, hay rides, a straw maze, crafts, photo opportunities, inflatables, rides, cider and donuts, and more! Sterling Frights is geared for kids 12 and under, and free to attend!

3. Halloween Science

Get ready to explore the science of spooky at this annual fan-favorite — Halloween Science at Cranbrook Institute of Science! Join in for this scary-fun interactive experience that the entire family will enjoy. The event features pumpkin launching with a three-ton trebuchet, a spooky selfie station, a creepy critters show, plus Halloween-themed hands-on activities, electrifying live entertainment and so much more!

4. Royal Oak Spooktacular

The Royal Oak Spooktacular is back for its 40th year on Sunday, October 22! Check out this fun and free alternative to neighborhood trick-or-treating. Children, parents & caregivers are encouraged to wear costumes, bring your own trick-or-treat bags, and make sure to pick up a map of the official Trick-or-Treat Trail. There will be Halloween-themed live music, a magic show, lawn games, face painting, costume contests and more!

Sunday, Oct. 22 from 1 p.m. - 5 p.m. in Downtown Royal Oak

5. Glenlore Trails: The Haunted Forest

The fun turns up when the sun goes down as Glenlore Trails presents The Haunted Forest! This outdoor, interactive light show in Commerce gets a Halloween-theme for the month of October. This year's theme is CarnEvil! Prepare for an unforgettable journey through an illuminated forest filled with frights and delights! Little explorers can also enjoy crafts, balloons, face painting stations and more.
