
(WWJ) The leaves are changing, and the fall fun vibes will be in full force this weekend! Here are some of our top picks for spooky and festive things to do in Metro Detroit, brought to you by WWJ's Don't Miss List with Pat Vitale.
1. Witches Day Out Market
Saturday-Sunday, Oct. 18-19, 10AM-5PM
Canterbury Village, Lake Orion
Calling all witches for a magical time at Canterbury Village! Come dressed to impress for the Best Witch costume and cackle contests — and don't forget your broomstick for the best broom coopetition! Enjoy special discounts at participating village stores, sip a specialty cocktail, or stop in at the cider mill for family-friendly treats. Plus pick out your pumpkin at the pop-up patch, and check out the Halloween décor for endless photo ops! Admission and parking are FREE. 2. Elmwood A-light
Friday-Saturday, Oct. 17-18, 7PM-10PM
Elmwood Cemetery, Detroit
For two nights only, Detroit's historic Elmwood Cemetery will shine with light, art, and music, all designed to evoke reflection and wonder. Walk the grounds as night descends and see this 179-year-old Detroit landmark in a new light! There will be immersive lighting displays featuring the cemetery's architecture, monuments and trees, and refreshments provided. Tickets are $40.
3. Detroit Bourbon Fest
Saturday Oct. 18
Detroit Historical Museum
For the 21+ crowd only, this festival features 100+ bourbons and whiskeys, cocktails, beer, and wine — as well as food vendors, live music, and other vendors. Rain the forecast won't be an issue, as this takes place indoors in a really cool venue: the Detroit Historical Museum. There are two session: 1PM-3:30PM, and 4:30PM-6:30PM.
4. Dearborn Haunted Trail, Fall Bizarre & more
Friday-Sunday, Oct. 17-19
City of Dearborn
Bring the family to the City of Dearborn, with lots of fall fun this weekend! It starts Friday night, with the Haunted Trail, at Ford Field Park. The city's first Downtown Fall Bazaar takes place Saturday, at Peace Park East. You'll find family fun activities there, too, plus trick-or- treating in Dearborn’s East and West downtown districts from 2-5 PM. Click the links for details.
