ANN ARBOR (WWJ) - Police in Tree Town are advising all residents to remain vigilant after over half a dozen home burglaries were reported over two days this week.
Ann Arbor Police issued a crime alert over the incidents which occurred between Tuesday, August 29, and Wednesday, August 30 at various residences across the city, including:

• 800 block of Catherine Street
• 100 block of N. State Street

In most of the cases, police said the intruder gained entry to the home by cutting out a window screen and climbing through an unlocked first-floor window.
The department released additional information about the N. State Street home invasion, where a female resident came face-to-face with the intruder in a bedroom at around 9:15 p.m. on August 29.
Police described the suspect as a Black, bald male aged between 40 and 50-years-old with a thin build and about 6' tall. He was wearing black pants, a brown/tan sweatshirt and a black backpack.
The female resident confront the intruder, who managed to flee out of the front door with an I-Phone, a Bluetooth speaker and some cash.
The department said the woman was not injured.
In the Sybil Street home invasion, an intruder managed to get into a home by gaining entry through an unlocked ground-level window, police said.
While no one was home at the time of that break in, which occurred sometime before 10:55 p.m. on August 30, observant neighbors were able to provide a description to police which "matched the same description of the suspect connected to a recent home break-in in the area."
Police further explained that Ann Arbor officers out on a domestic violence call early Thursday (August 31) morning identified a male suspect in that incident as the person-of-interest in the N. State Street home burglary.
Officers were dispatched to Wheeler Park around 12:40 a.m. where they met the victim of a domestic assault. The victim, who sustained minor injuries and refused on-scene medical care, spoke to police about the suspect. Police then discovered the suspect, a 58-year-old Ann Arbor man, also had also captured the interest of investigators working on the string of recent home invasions.
"Officers later located the suspect... he was arrested and transported to the Washtenaw County Jail in connection to the domestic assault and home break-in," the department added.
Investigators are now working to determine if he man could be behind the other home invasions in the downtown area.
