WARREN (WWJ) - A vehicle service shop in Warren went up in flames Friday morning, blocking traffic in the area as fire crews rushed to extinguish the blaze.
A witness working in the area told WWJ Newsradio 950 that the fire broke out at the Expert Auto Service Shop at Van Dyke and Meadow with firefighters actively on scene working to control the flames.
Officials have blocked both directions of Van Dyke, near Toepfer, just north of 8 Mile -- drivers are advised to avoid the area and utilize an alterative route
At around 11 a.m., video posted to social media showed a lot of black smoke as firefighters worked at an active scene.
The witness said it appeared that fire was contained, although the cause remains unknown.
There are no reports of any injuries at this time.
