TROY (WWJ) -- Police made an arrest outside the Panda Express in Troy last week after they got a call about a man who was behaving oddly while inside the business.
The Troy PD said officer responded just before 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 13, to the fast-casual chain restaurant on Rochester Rd., near E. Big Beaver Rd.
Acceding to police, employees told officers that a customer was "acting strange" while in the restaurant, and was now "passed out" in his vehicle in the parking lot.
When police arrived, they found the a 2017 Dodge RAM parked crooked across two parking spaces, with the driver slumped over the steering wheel.
Officers spoke with the driver, identified as a 56-year-old Bloomfield Township man, "who was immediately agitated and uncooperative with questioning," according to the police report. Police noted that there was a smell of alcohol coming from the vehicle.
After the driver was evaluated and cleared by Alliance Mobile Health for any medical issues, he was arrested and taken to the Troy Police Lock-up
Police said the man was read his chemical test rights, but refused to take a breath test.
A search warrant was issued for a blood draw, and his blood was taken.
Police said the case was turned over to the Detective Bureau for appropriate warrants once the blood test results are returned.
