(WWJ) A brief, weak tornado touched down in Oakland County Sunday evening, leaving some minor damage behind.
The National Weather Service said Monday it has confirmed the EF-0 tornado — with a path just under one mile long and 75 yards wide, and maximum wind speeds up 65 mph — in Springfield Township.
The twister formed at 6:19 p.m. near Dixie Highway and East Holly Road, and was only on the ground for about three minutes as a storm system moved through metro Detroit.
Most of the damage was numerous large tree limbs that were broken off, and a few small trees uprooted. Also, there was "very minor" siding damage to two homes, the Weather Service said.
No injuries were reported.
