DETROIT (WWJ) -- A Detroit man called "a person of interest" in the case of three bodies found in a burning car over the weekend is now facing multiple charges.

The Wayne County Prosecutor's Office said 29-year-old Edward Delorean Redding has been charged with one count of Third-Degree Fleeing and Eluding, and one count of Resisting and Obstructing a Police Officer.

He has not been charged in the deaths of the two women and 9-year-old girl that were discovered at Milford and 30th, in the area of W. Grand Boulevard and I-94, the morning of Sunday, April 6.

This comes after Redding was charged on Tuesday with being a Felon in Possession of a Firearm.

Redding, who has a lengthy criminal record, was on parole for another crime when a gun was found in his vehicle.

Sunday afternoon, while investigating the deaths, Detroit police officers located a suspect vehicle driving southbound on I-75 freeway near Schaefer Highway. When they tried to pull over the driver, later identified as Redding, it's alleged that he sped away.

Officers chased Redding to Schaefer Highway and Fort Street where police said he jumped out of his car and ran. After a brief foot pursuit, Redding was caught and taken into custody.

He was set to be arraigned on the latest charged in 36th District Court Wednesday afternoon, but the arraignment was delayed.

Authorities are not releasing any further information about the three victims at this time, as the investigation continues.
