MT. CLEMENS (WWJ) -- A Macomb County woman could spend the rest of her life in prison if she's convicted as charged with cooking up a murder-for-hire plot.
The Macomb County Sheriff’s Office said it became aware of the scheme back in December, when investigators caught 36-year-old Aaron Muterspaw of Warren talking about it on the phone while in the Macomb County Jail.
On the other end of the call was the second suspect in this case: identified as 35-year-old Carmen Marchetti of Chesterfield Township.
Sheriff's detectives said multiple conversations between the pair involved a plan to kill or hurt Marchetti's soon-to-be ex-husband.
After hearing the conversations, the sheriff's office immediately launched an investigation.
Marchetti was taken into custody and arraigned Monday in 41B District Court on the following: one count of Homicide – Solicitation of Murder - a life felony; one count of Conspiracy to Commit Homicide – Solicitation of Murder – a life felony; and one count – Telecommunication Services – Malicious Use – a six-moth misdemeanor.
Her bond was set at $100,000.
