ROMULUS (WWJ) - Operations inside part of Detroit Metro Airport grinded to a sudden, but brief halt after a traveler breached a TSA security checkpoint on Wednesday night, officials said.
According to the Wayne County Airport Authority, airport police took one person into custody on July 19 after they broke through the TSA checkout in the McNamara Terminal.
"The incident temporarily halted the screening process and activated the breach gates in the terminal," officials explained in a press release.
When authorities reached the traveler, they searched the area with the help of a K-9 unit -- nothing of concern was found, officials added.
"The police department advised the traveler appeared confused and did not pose a security threat," an official with the airport authority said. "He was ultimately cited and released."
Operations in he McNamara Terminal have since returned to normal.
