(WWJ) Detroit Police are hoping that someone in the public can help them to identify a wanted thief.
Sometime between 11 p.m. on Friday, January 1, and 2:40 p.m. on Saturday, January 2, police say the suspect broke into a transportation business in the 400 block of St. Jean on the city's east side.
He cut a hole in the garage door, according to investigators, and once inside he stole multiple catalytic converters from buses, along with other supplies.
The man then fled the scene,
Police said it is believed that the same suspect broke into the same location on two other occasions: First, sometime between December 4 and December 7, 2020, and again on December 19.
As the investigation continues, police on Tuesday released a composite sketch of the suspect, in hopes that someone in the community may recognize him.
The suspect is described as a younger Black male, with short hair and a short beard. He was last seen wearing beige Carhart overalls and dark colored sweatshirt, carrying a Sawzall.
Anyone who can identify this suspect, or has any information regarding these crimes, they are asked to contact the Detroit Police Department's 5th Precinct at 313-596-5540 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-Speak Up (1-800-773-2587).
