Police show off $144K in 'potentially harmful substances' seized by narcotics officers in Detroit raid; 3 arrested

DETROIT (WWJ) -- "More potentially harmful substances are off of the city's streets," according to the police, after big drug bust in Detroit earlier this week.

According to the Detroit Police Department, on Wednesday, April 23, officers with the Narcotics Unit served a search warrant at a location in the 2600 block of Clairmount, in the area of Linwood and Joy Rd.

On the scene, police made one felony arrest, two misdemeanor arrests, and confiscated the following items, seen in a photo released by the DPD on Friday (info from the DPD):

2.1 grams of Fentanyl worth $210
13,351 grams of Marijuana worth $133,510
8 grams of Ecstasy worth $200
676 pills worth $6,760
2,064 grams of Promethazine worth $1,200
250 units of Suboxone worth $2,500
1 firearm
$8,688 in cash

The total street value of the seized narcotics is $144,380, according to police.

According to the CDC, approximately 70% of U.S. overdose deaths in 2023 were estimated to involve illicit fentanyl.

The DPD added, in a social media post, "Great work officers for removing these substances from out streets! #ProtectAndServe"
