DEARBORN (WWJ) -- Authorities say there's no threat to the public after a raid brought local police and the FBI into a Dearborn neighborhood, early Tuesday.
Dearborn Police and the FBI Violent Crimes Task Force conducted an operation at a home on the west side of the city, at around 6 a.m. on Nov. 18.
WWJ Newsradio 950's Luke Sloan said, a few hours later, it remained an active scene, on Queens Street, near Telegraph Rd. and Michigan Ave.
"They're going to have the board this home up as well, because this raid was so dramatic how it player out," Sloan reported. "The front door of this home was blown off, the railing of the porch also blown off,"
While some have questions whether this raid could be linked to a Halloween weekend terror plot in Dearborn, that does not appear to be the case.
Dearborn Police have confirmed to WWJ that the raid was related to a recent felonious assault in Dearborn, involving a gun.
It's unclear when and where the assault happened, as further details have not been released.
Neighbor Drew Whitely, who lives across the street, said nothing like this has ever happened before in this neighborhood.
"No, a very quiet neighborhood," he told Sloan. "Mostly older people, couples with families. They (the people in the raided home) were renters. Never really talked to them, though."
No information has been released about any arrests or suspects.
