DEARBORN (WWJ) - Police are looking for a suspect after two residents displaying Palestinian flags outside their homes received threatening letters.
Investigators say they believe the letters were sent by the same person because the contents were identical.
In a statement, the police department said "threats of any kind will not be tolerated in our community."
Police say they have increased the number of patrols at all schools and places of worship across the city over the last three weeks in an abundance of caution.
"While we continue to investigate both of these incidents, we remain in constant communication with our local, state, and federal law enforcement partners," the police said in the statement.
TCD Dearborn News posted an alleged photo of one of the letters on Facebook. The letter told the homeowner to take down the flag or "YOU will regret it!!!!!!!", along with other remarks.
