ROSEVILLE (WWJ) -- Roseville Police are still searching for a young man considered to be a person of interest after the body of a 62-year-old woman was found in the pickup truck he abandoned at the scene of a car crash.
The deceased has now been identified as Gabrielle Seitz, per WDIV. Seitz's son Justin Owens is asking for respect and privacy following his mother's death, which authorities have labeled "suspicious."
Officers responded to reports of a vehicle crash at westbound Common Road and Hayes Road in Roseville, near the city's border with Warren, at around 12:15 p.m on Thursday, October 27.
Upon arrival, Deputy Chief Mitchell Berlin said law enforcement learned that the driver of one of the two vehicles involved in the crash had fled the area.
The suspect is believed to be a white male, 17-20 years old, and approximately 5-foot-10 with brown hair. He was last seen wearing a gray hooded Nike sweatshirt, black Nike sweatpants and Puma tennis shoes.
Following further investigation, police discovered a body in the bed of the blue pickup truck driven by the suspect.
At the time, the victim was identified as a Roseville woman, but no other details were given.
The cause of death has not yet been determined, and no further information has been released by police.
An investigation by Roseville Criminal Investigation Division is ongoing.
