DETROIT (WWJ) - Ownership and staff at The Red Hook Greenway coffee shop remain determined to reopen after a car rammed through the building on Friday.
"Everything inside is completely destroyed," shop owners said on Facebook as they figured out how to rebuild the shop off Jefferson Ave. near the Riverwalk in downtown Detroit.
Employees were in the store at the time of the crash — an update to social media said the two workers were taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries, but are expected to be OK.
They also said the driver of the vehicle that crashed through the store is also doing well, although it is unclear what kind of injuries they sustained.

The owners said there are a number of ways to help out local coffee shops as they work on reopening.
"Buy your beans, coffee and pastries from your neighborhood shops. Chat with your friendly baristas and neighbors while you're there. We're here for you and we are all so happy to serve you," they said.
Other Red Hook locations in West Village or Ferndale are open for business, shop owners said.
No cause for the crash has been released at this time.
