MACOMB COUNTY (WWJ) - A Detroit firefighter is facing several felony charges after authorities claim he was dealing drugs in at least three cities around Macomb County.

The Macomb County Prosecutor's Office said Gerald Trombley, 45, was charged in Warren, Eastpointe and Roseville on multiple drug counts related to the case.

The charges stem from an investigation by an undercover police officer with the Sterling Heights Police Department who met with Trombley in the three cities back in January.

“Our detective’s outstanding investigation led to the discovery that this subject was selling prescription pills and ecstasy in multiple cities, which included Warren, Eastpointe, and Roseville," the Sterling Heights Police Department said in a prepared statement.

Trombley is a 15-year veteran of the Detroit Fire Department who lives in Warren -- the department said he was suspended and an internal investigation is pending.

“The off-duty actions of one firefighter do not represent the actions or character of 1,200 other Detroit firefighters," the fire department said in a release in January.

Trombley arraigned Tuesday, March 1, in Eastpointe District Court on charges of Delivery of Schedule Two Drugs -- a 7 year felony. A judge gave the firefighter a a $50,000.00 personal bond with bond conditions including drug testing twice a week.

In Warren, Trombley was charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute less than 50gm -- a 20 year felony, Delivery of Schedule Two Drugs -- a 7 year felony, Possession with Intent to Distribute Schedule Two Drugs -- a 7 year felony, and Possession of Analogues -- a 2 year felony.

Trombley’s bond was set in Warren at $25,000.00 personal bond.

In Roseville District Court, Trombley was charged yet again of Delivery of Schedule Two Drugs -- 7 year felony. He was granted a $10,000.00 personal bond with twice a week drug testing.

A probable cause hearing in Eastpointe has been set for Wednesday, March 15, while a preliminary exam is scheduled for Wednesday, March 22. Meanwhile, the disgraced firefighter faces an arraignment scheduled at the Macomb County Circuit Court on Monday, March 20, 2023 at 1:30 p.m. from the Roseville case that was bound over.
