Detroit man charged with murder after police say he brutally beat, strangled woman to death

DETROIT (WWJ) - A 56-year-old man is facing homicide charges after police claim he viciously attacked and killed a woman in their shared Detroit home.

Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy charged Maurice Allison, 56, for the murder of Stacie Davis, 33, also of Detroit.


According to the Detroit Police Department, Allison and Davis were living together at a home in the 14140 block of Pfent Street when the incident unfolded.

Officers were first called out to the home just after 8 p.m. on Sept. 17 on reports of an overdose, the department stated, but when they arrived at the scene, they found Davis inside with severe blunt force trauma injuries to her head and face.

When medics got to the home, they pronounced the 33-year-old woman dead.

"It is alleged that Defendant Allison strangled the victim, fatally injuring her," Worthy said.

Allison was arrested by Detroit police on Sept. 18 and was charged with First-Degree Murder.

He was arraigned in 36th District Court Friday morning, and remanded to jail without bond. He will be back in court for a probably cause conference scheduled for Oct. 6, before Judge Kenneth King
