Three Detroit men were charged in connection to an alleged series of vehicle thefts around Metro Detroit.

22-year-old Leondre Jones was bound over on charges Monday. 25-year-old Lemuel Watley-Neeley and 33-year-old Jayvon Williams waived their right to a preliminary exam, according to the Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office.

Jones, Watley-Neeley and Williams allegedly engaged in “racketeering for profit through multiple vehicle thefts” across Macomb, Oakland and Wayne counties.

All three men are charged with conducting a criminal enterprise, a 20-year felony. Jones is also charged with habitual offender, fourth offense notice, which the Prosecutor’s Office said could result in life in prison.

Jones’ preliminary exam was held on Feb. 5 and 6. Judge Michael Chupa ruled there was sufficient evidence to bind Jones over for trial.

“This case highlights the strength of interagency collaboration among the Macomb Auto Theft Task Squad and the Troy Special Investigations Unit,” Macomb County Prosecutor Peter Lucido said. “Through coordinated and professional efforts, these agencies were able to interrupt an alleged criminal operation. I commend everyone involved for their continued dedication to protecting the residents of Macomb, Oakland and Wayne counties.”

All three men are scheduled to be arraigned at the Macomb County Circuit Court on Feb. 23.
