DETROIT (WWJ) – The search continues for a man suspected of killing a 34-year-old woman on Detroit's northwest side in early August.

Detroit police are renewing their calls for tips from the public that help them find the culprit.

Details surrounding the murder remain unclear, but police officials say it happened around 4 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 6 in the 11500 block of LaSalle – in the area of Chicago and Rosa Parks Boulevards.

The victim's name was not released.

Police officials on Tuesday re-released a sketch of the suspect, who they described back in August as a Black man, about 35 years old.

The suspect is approximately 5-foot-6, 165 lbs., with a medium complexion and a stocky build. Officials say the suspect has a bald head, black mustache and a long, full beard.

The suspect has dark brown eyes and had cuts under his right eye and on his upper lip, police officials said at the time of the murder.

He was last seen wearing a gray tank top and dark shorts. He was said to be armed with a handgun, potentially a compact 9mm.

Anyone who recognizes the suspect in the sketch or knows something about the murder is asked to call the Detroit Police Department's Homicide Unit at 313-596-2260 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
