DETROIT (WWJ) – An elderly man is dead and a man police had identified as a person of interest in the death is in custody.
Detroit police were called to the 6300 block of Curtis Street – near Livernois, between McNichols and 7 Mile Roads on the city's northwest side – around 6:20 p.m. Saturday.
That's where officers found a 71-year-old man stabbed inside his home.
Police detectives had been searching for 33-year-old Shahriff Logan, who was considered to be a person of interest.
Authorities announced late Sunday afternoon Logan had been taken into custody, but no further details were available.
Police have not released many details about Logan or what may have led to the stabbing.
It was not clear whether the victim knew Logan.
