DETROIT (WWJ) -- Detroit police are asking for the public's help in tracking down a teenage girl who ran away from home on the city's north side.
Authorities say 15-year-old Aaliyah Ellis was last seen around 3:45 p.m. Wednesday in 3700 block of Hazelwood Street, near Joy Road and Dexter Avenue.
Ellis's mother says the teen left the home after being disciplined and has not been seen since.
The teen has left home before and was found nearby in the area of Tuxedo and LaSalle Streets.
Police describe Ellis as 5-foot-8, 115 lbs., with medium complexion. Police did not have details on what clothes she was wearing, but said she has a braided bun hair style.
Ellis is said to be in good physical and mental condition, but authorities are asking anyone who has seen her or knows of her whereabouts to contact the Detroit Police Department's Tenth Precinct Investigative Unit at (313) 596-2040.
