DETROIT (WWJ) -- Detroit police are still searching for the person who shot and killed a 14-year-old boy in a drive-by on the city's northwest side, back in December.
The Detroit Police Department on Thursday released a suvelience photo of a suspect vehicle, described as a dark colored Jeep Cherokee SUV.
According to investigators, the shooting happened just after 5:40 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 19, 2022, on Ferguson Street, near 7 Mile Road.
Police said an unknown suspect fired shots from the vehicle, striking the teen, who then ran a short distance to the 19100 block of Biltmore where he collapsed.
Police said the suspect then fled down an alley, heading southbound on Asbury Park.
The teen, whose name has not been released, was taken to a hospital where he died.
There is no description of the shooter at this time, and it's not known if or what the victim may have been targeted.
