REDFORD TWP. (WWJ) — Detroit rapper Skilla Baby is recovering after being wounded in a drive-by shooting Thursday night.
Skilla Baby — whose name is Trevon Gardner — was shot three times in the hand and head in what authorities believe was a targeted attack.
Redford Township police officials say it happened May 22 in the area of 8 Mile and Centralia — just west of Beech Daly — while he was in a car.
Investigators believe he was alone in the car when someone fired more than 20 shots from a dark colored SUV. The rapper was hit three times before crashing into a building.
The suspect fled the scene and authorities are asking for the public’s help in tracking them down. While no description has been provided, officials say anyone who knows something about the shooting should contact Detective Ed French at efrench@redfordpd.org or 313-387-2579.
