ALPENA COUNTY (WWJ) - It wasn't a usual suspect that had troopers running around in Northern Michigan over the weekend.
According to authorities, a trooper with Michigan State Police's Seventh District was dispatched on a call about an at-large donkey running loose near Alpena.
After a brief chase, the fleeing four-legged suspect "surrendered peacefully."
"The Mounties may "Always get their man", but the MSP "Always get their donkey,'" troopers stated in reference to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police's reputation for catching criminals.
It's unclear how the donkey escaped to begin with.
