DETROIT (WWJ) — The search is on for a driver who allegedly fled the scene after an October crash on Detroit's west side that left a 69-year-old man dead.
Detroit police officials on Wednesday shared photos of a white Cadillac Escalade ESV (extended length) with heavy front-end damage, including a missing bumper, missing headlights and a broken grill.
Authorities say the SUV was involved in the deadly hit-and-run around 2:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 5 in the area of W. Warren and Grandville.
The driver allegedly crashed into the 69-year-old man's beige Honda Accord and fled the scene. Medics pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
Police did not release any other details surrounding the crash.
Authorities say the suspect's Escalade also has a small moon roof, seven-spoke chrome rims and a trailer hitch. Photos released Wednesday show the Escalade driving in a parking lot that has a sign with a red "Spirit of Detroit" logo and says "martial arts."

Officials are asking anyone who recognizes the suspect's SUV or knows something about the hit-and-run to call the Detroit Police Department's Fatal Squad Unit at 313-596-2260.
