(WWJ) – More than 200 drivers are looking at tickets after Michigan State Police carried out Operation Laser Tag on Wednesday.
The operation, happening along I-696 in Macomb County, targeted drivers for speeding, tailgating and distracted driving.
MSP officials on Twitter Thursday afternoon released the results from the operation. Troopers conducted 180 traffic stops and issued 210 traffic citations and 75 verbal warnings.
Authorities also made three arrests -- for one felony and two misdemeanors. Officials said Wednesday they had impounded vehicles, though officials didn't specify numbers.
MSP said the highest speed they clocked on Wednesday was 110 mph. Authorities didn't say exactly where that happened on the freeway or whether the driver will face reckless driving charges.
