MADISON HEIGHTS (WWJ) — A driver who had to be revived with several doses of Narcan after wrecking on a freeway in Oakland County on Sunday is facing DUI charges for the third time, police say.

Michigan State Police said troopers with the Metro North post were dispatched to crash involving one vehicle along I-75 in Madison Heights on New Year's Day when they discovered the driver unresponsive.

The driver was also not breathing.

Troopers at the scene immediately jumped into action by opening up the driver's airway and administering Narcan.

After three doses, the driver regained consciousness and was given to the care of EMS personnel.

No one else was injured in the incident, police said.

The case has been turned over to the Oakland County Prosecutor's Office for review. The driver faces possible felony charges for Impaired Driving 3rd Offense, troopers added.
