OAKLAND COUNTY (WWJ) - Oakland County Sheriff's investigators are searching for the driver of an SUV involved in a deadly hit-and-run crash in Pontiac Saturday morning.

The sheriff's office said 59-year old Todd Lawrence Frank was hit around 12:49 a.m. on July 29, while walking in the roadway on Auburn Avenue near South Astor Street.

The driver of the vehicle that hit him was headed eastbound, official said, and left the scene after the incident.

Frank died from his injuries shortly after arriving at the hospital.

That suspect vehicle is described as mid-size SUV, which investigators believe is a gray or silver 2009-2012 Chevrolet Traverse.

The vehicle is likely to have front end damage to the front passenger side, including the passenger side headlight lens. There may also be damage to the hood and/or fender.

Frank died from his injuries shortly after arriving at the hospital.

Anyone with information about the driver, the SUV or may have witnessed the incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP. Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $2,000 for information leading to an arrest in the case. Tipsters remain anonymous.

The Sheriff's Office Crash Reconstruction Unit continues to investigate the incident.
